FACEIT Level 4 (901-1050 ELO) is the most populated level on the entire platform, housing 21.8% of all players. Since 1000 ELO is the default starting point for new accounts, Level 4 is where the majority of players get calibrated — and where many get stuck. This makes it both the most competitive and most frustrating level to play at.
The skill variance at Level 4 is extreme. You will play against genuine Level 4 players, newly calibrated accounts that could be Level 7+ in reality, and players who have deranked from Level 5-6. The inconsistency of your teammates and opponents is the defining characteristic of this level. One match might feel like smooth teamwork against evenly-skilled opponents; the next might feel like an impossible uphill battle.
Breaking out of Level 4 requires a shift in mindset. You cannot rely on teammates to carry or on lucky aim duels to win rounds. Instead, you need to become self-sufficient: able to open sites solo with utility, clutch rounds when teammates fall, and make smart decisions under pressure. Level 4 is where the game transitions from "can you aim?" to "can you think?"
Solid understanding of CS2 competitive fundamentals. Has a pool of 2-3 maps. Knows economy management. Mechanical aim is average — can hit shots but not consistently. Decision-making under pressure is the main growth area.
Based on aggregated data from hundreds of thousands of FACEIT matches. These are average values — individual stats vary by role and playstyle.
This is an approximate conversion. FACEIT and CS2 Premier use different rating systems and player pools. FACEIT typically has a higher average skill level because its player base consists of self-selected competitive players, while Premier includes the entire CS2 player base. A FACEIT Level 4 player may find Premier matchmaking easier than their Premier rating suggests.

These are the most frequent errors that keep Level 4 players from ranking up. Eliminating even 1-2 of these can produce immediate ELO gains.
Over-relying on aim duels instead of using utility to gain advantages — Level 4 players often dry-peek when a flashbang would guarantee the kill.
No default strategy — running the same execute every round as T, or not having a plan during the first 30 seconds of the round.
Poor afterplant positions — planting the bomb and standing next to it instead of falling back to a crossfire setup.
Not adapting mid-game — running the same strats even when the enemy has clearly read them.
Solo plays on CT side — pushing for unnecessary information and dying, leaving the team in a 4v5.
