1. Who We Are

FCTracker (also branded as “FACEIT Finder”) is an independent player-lookup tool available at fctracker.org. We are not affiliated with FACEIT, Valve Corporation or Steam.

2. What Data We Collect

• Search queries. Steam IDs, profile URLs or FACEIT usernames that you enter into the search box.
• Technical information. Anonymised IP address, browser type, language preference and basic device statistics that are required for service operation and security.
• Cookie. A single optional cookie (ff-lang) that stores your chosen interface language.

3. How We Use Your Data

We process data solely in order to deliver the service you initiate — i.e. to fetch public statistics from FACEIT and Steam and display them back to you. We do not sell, monetise or profile your data for advertising purposes.

4. Data Storage & Retention

Search queries are processed in memory and discarded immediately after the response is delivered. No permanent logs or databases containing your look-ups are kept on our servers.

5. Third-Party Services & Cookies

Essential Third-Party APIs:

We call the official FACEIT Data API and Steam Web API to retrieve player information. Your query identifiers (Steam IDs, FACEIT usernames) are transmitted to these APIs over HTTPS. These transmissions are necessary for the service to function and we have appropriate data processing agreements in place.

Cookie Details:

• ff-lang (Essential): Stores your preferred language setting. Purpose: Remembers your language choice across visits. Duration: 365 days. No personal data is stored.
• Session Cookies: Temporary cookies that maintain your session state during your visit. Duration: Until you close your browser.

Third-Party Cookies:

We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. No cookies from Google Analytics, Facebook, or other marketing/advertising platforms are placed on your device.

No Analytics or Tracking:

We deliberately choose not to implement web analytics services (like Google Analytics) or any form of user tracking. This means we don't collect behavioral data, create user profiles, or track you across multiple visits for marketing purposes.

6. Security

All traffic is encrypted via TLS 1.2+. Our servers are hosted in EU datacentres that comply with ISO 27001. Access to infrastructure is protected by SSH keys and two-factor authentication.

7. Legal Basis & Compliance

GDPR Compliance: For users in the European Union, we process data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our legal basis for processing is legitimate interest in providing the lookup service you have requested.

CCPA Compliance: For California residents, we comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.

Data Controller: FCTracker is the data controller for any personal information processed through this service.

8. Your Rights

Under GDPR (EU Users):

• Right of Access: You can request a copy of any personal data we hold about you. Since we only process search queries temporarily and don't store personal data, there is typically no data to retrieve.
• Right to Rectification: If you believe any information about you is inaccurate, you may request correction.
• Right to Erasure: You can request deletion of your personal data. Again, since we don't store personal data permanently, this is typically fulfilled automatically.
• Right to Restrict Processing: You may request that we limit processing of your personal data.
• Right to Data Portability: You can request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format.
• Right to Object: You can object to processing of your personal data.
• Right to Lodge a Complaint: You can complain to a supervisory authority in your EU member state.

Under CCPA (California Residents):

• Right to Know: You can request what personal information we have collected about you.
• Right to Delete: You can request deletion of your personal information.
• Right to Opt-Out: You can opt-out of the sale of your personal information (we do not sell personal information).

Cookie Management:

You may clear the language cookie (ff-lang) at any time from your browser settings. Most browsers also allow you to block cookies entirely or be notified when cookies are set.

9. Children

The service is intended for users aged 13 and above, in line with Steam's own age policy. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

10. Data Retention

Search Queries: Processed in memory and discarded immediately after response delivery. No permanent logs or databases containing your lookups are kept on our servers.

Language Preference: Stored in a browser cookie (ff-lang) for 365 days from your last visit. You can delete this cookie at any time.

Technical Logs: Basic access logs are retained for 30 days for security monitoring and troubleshooting purposes, then automatically deleted.

11. International Data Transfers

Our servers are hosted in EU datacentres. When we call the FACEIT and Steam APIs, your query identifiers may be transmitted to servers located outside the EU. These transfers are protected by HTTPS encryption and are necessary for the service to function. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any international data transfers.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect legal or operational requirements. Material changes will be announced on the homepage seven days before they take effect. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
